Human Resource Generalist

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Human Resource Generalist oversees the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office and manages the administration of human resource policies, procedures and programs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the day-today operations of the Human Resources Department
• Carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, human resource information, employee relations, training and development, benefits, travel, compensation, organizational development and employment
• Manages recruitment and hiring activities
• Prepares and manages all vacations schedules
• Implements performance management and improvement systems
• Develops, implements and enforces corporate policy and procedures
• Handles all benefits and policies queries
• Addresses employee services and counseling
• Conducts all exit interviews
• Books all company travel including flights, hotels and car rentals
• Processes employee expenses
• Rollout HR programs as directed

REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain and apply a high-level understanding of employment law and human resources policies and procedures
• Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative and conceptual problem solving abilities
• A self-starter and team player
• Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Proven experience searching recruiting databases, screening and interviewing potential candidates
• Experience recruiting within a telecommunications and/or software environment an asset
• Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Exceptional Written and Verbal skills (English)
  • Fluency in French is an asset

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• General degree experience required
• Specialized diploma or certificate in Human Resources required
• 8+ years experience

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Occasional evening and, or weekend work and travel as required to meet deadlines and objectives.
