Connexall Plays Key Role in Award Winning Cancer Center

AeroScout – one of Connexall’s technology partners – was awarded the 2010 RFID Journal Innovation Award for a project we collaborated on at The Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in California. The solution at the Disney Cancer Center uses Connexall to leverage the various technologies being used to create business process rules that automate workflow and provide closed loop communications.
As enterprise middleware, Connexall allows Aeroscout, Johnson Controls P2000 building management, and Avaya technologies to communicate with each other, enabling an impressive range of benefits, including:

  • Automated Environmental Controls – as patients enter designated areas of the facility, the temperature settings are adjusted based on previously configured user profiles
  • Ambient Experience-  When patients enter specific areas of the facility, lighting and sound (music, soothing background noise) levels are adjusted based on previously configured user profiles
  • Work-Flow automation- Notifications are dispatched to clinical team members, signifying that patients are ready and waiting for treatment procedures, e.g. Radiation visit, and weekly exams
