EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION: The Connexall Difference ABOUT LANXESS CANADA With facilities that cover over 600 acres and 500+ employees, LanXESS needed a communications solution to manage alert notifications for: While each emergency response team have distinct sets of equipment and procedures, the need for timely communication is common to all. Before Connexall, emergency notifications were sent via pagers, which required responders to call the dispatcher to determine the nature and location of the emergency - this created delays and the potential for miscommunication. "Connexall is an integral part of our emergency response process. It's easy to use and even notifies off-duty responders. It's a real improvement on what we had before! " - Bruce Morrison THE CONNEXALL SOLUTION Connexall's vendor-agnostic application enables LanXESS employees to use their choice of cell phone, eliminating the need to invest in a single type of mobile device or expensive new system. Site Commanders now dispatch notifications with a few clicks from the Emergency Services workstation. These pre-defined notifications send text-to-voice requests to key responders, who acknowledge receipt of the request by pressing a button on their phone. For off-duty emergency responders, such as fire fighters, Connexall sends notifications to home or personal cell phones, making it easy to reach key responders in critical situations. INTO THE FUTURE CONNEXALL RESULTS SUMMARY Other benefits that the Emergency Management team realized from their custom-built Connexall solution: "It's great to be able to give people more information about an emergency event. With text-to-voice notification, we can alert responders quickly, and we can also direct people to safe zones. Connexall's reporting capabilities also give us a better idea of how we can close gaps in communication. We can see how long it takes to respond to any event notification, which helps us better plan for other potential events." - Bruce Morrison |
